Services/Evaluations
Clinical Interview/Intake
Information gathered during an initial intake and caregiver interview (or patient interview in case of young adults) is used to make recommendations about whether an evaluation would be helpful and what kind of evaluation is appropriate.
Cost: $350
If an evaluation is recommended, this intake cost is deducted from the cost of subsequent evaluation/consultation.
Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation
A neuropsychological evaluation aims to better understand an individual’s thinking, learning, and behavior using specialized assessment tools that are not part of other diagnostic procedures. The ultimate goal of the evaluation is to optimize a person’s functioning and direct interventions/support/resources.
The following areas of function are typically evaluated: intellectual function (IQ), language, attention, processing speed, learning and memory, visual-spatial skills, executive function, problem-solving and reasoning, motor and sensory skills, behavior, social communication, mood and emotional function, adaptive function and, when indicated, academic skills.
Following intake/clinical interview, comprehensive evaluations include record review, gathering of information from teachers/therapists, in-person patient interview, testing (approximately 5-8 hours), scoring, interpretation, verbal feedback, completion of a written report, and collaboration with teachers and providers, if indicated.
Cost: $4600
School visits/observations and attendance at school educational planning meetings charged separately.
Psychoeducational Evaluation
A psychoeducational evaluation is typically indicated when an individual has difficulty learning academic skills and performing at school because of concern for a learning or intellectual disability. This evaluation assesses intellectual and academic function and screens social/emotional function. Results of this evaluation can confirm diagnosis of a learning or intellectual disability so that appropriate interventions in the school environment can be considered. In some cases, a more comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation is necessary to understand the reasons for academic challenges.
Following an initial consultation/clinical interview, psychoeducational evaluations include record review, gathering of information from teachers, patient interview, testing (approximately 4-5 hours), scoring, interpretation, verbal feedback, completion of a written report, and collaboration with teachers and providers, if indicated.
Cost: $3500
School visits/observations and attendance at school educational planning meetings charged separately.
ADHD Evaluation
A briefer, targeted evaluation may be sufficient in situations where an individual presents with attention problems and/or hyperactivity affecting their functioning and where a diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is in question.
Following an initial consultation/clinical interview, this evaluation includes record review, gathering of information from teachers, patient interview, neuropsychological testing and scoring (approximately 2-3 hours), interpretation, verbal feedback, completion of a written report, and collaboration with teachers and providers, if indicated. School observation, which is an additional cost, is strongly recommended.
Cost: Varies
Preschool-Age Neurodevelopmental Evaluation
For young children with developmental concerns, a shorter evaluation is appropriate and would include intake/clinical interview, record review, preschool-teacher input (if applicable), testing (2-4 hours depending on concerns), scoring, interpretation, verbal feedback, completion of a written report, and collaboration, if indicated.
Cost: $2500
School visits/observations and attendance at school educational planning meetings charged separately.
Post-concussion evaluation/consultation
Individuals who sustain concussion often experience symptoms beyond several weeks or months. Neuropsychological screening/consultation can be helpful following these injuries to identify, address, and prevent persistence of symptoms either in the early weeks after an injury or even months later. The purpose of this evaluation is to consider multiple potential factors contributing to symptom presentation and to provide psychoeducation and recommendations to help an individual return to baseline. Attendance at school educational planning meetings charged separately.
This evaluation includes detailed patient and caregiver interview, record review, teacher input, testing (approximately 2-3 hours), scoring, interpretation, verbal feedback, completion of a written report, and psychoeducation.
Cost: $2500
In some cases, a more comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation may be warranted.
Detailed Record Review and Consultation
n cases where a child may have prior evaluation(s), detailed record review and consultation can provide interpretation of prior results, targeted recommendations/strategies, and guidance regarding the benefit of more evaluation. A written summary of impressions and recommendations is provided.
Cost: $1000
